"Limon Dance Company concert on Aug 4th was a HUGE letdown due to several reasons:
JB made his fame & bones starting in the 70's & 80's. I realize that he would like to SWITCH IT UP but people at the concert got very restless & annoyed. Most were drunk or were drinking a lot & were shouting out songs they would like to hear. He ignored them, I think personally, because they were rude & obnoxious. Lets be honest. THATS WHAT PEOPLE CAME TO HEAR. The fans were very distracting due to the constant bathroom breaks they needed because of the drinking. I know that is not JB's fault but I think that led to him just refusing to play the " Oldies but Goodies" people came to hear.
Played about 13-14songs. First 10 or so were most recent I guess. Never heard them before & the radio in the NY area doesn't play them.
Had a Sarah Watkins open up (personal friend) for a last half an hour. Not to bad BUT not what I was expecting. The band itself, & him, were excellent BUT it is not the concert I was expecting nor will I go to another one if he ever decides to tour in the area again. Shame really because " He still has it " .................."
Good...but not great.
The surviving brothers made an admirable effort with some genuine moments of excitement, but Michael was definitely missing. The hole left by MJs absence is gaping, and something was certainly missing. The group is talented, but not amazing. It was not surprising to see the Beatles without Paul and John. Jermaine has a very good voice and did his best, but he just can't energize an audience like his younger brother could. None of the brothers can come close to Michael's dancing and stage presence, surprisingly. They need a new charismatic lead singer to be great again. Nevertheless, they are worth going to see the Limon Dance Company because they are a music legend.
